Cisco Data Center Infrastructure Design (DCID) provides training in data center design using Cisco data center solutions and technologies. Topics covered include network design with virtualization technologies, Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies and routing protocols, as well as data center networking design options. You will learn the practices of designing a Cisco Unified Computing System™ (Cisco UCS®) solution based on Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers, Cisco UCS Manager, and Cisco Unified Fabric, while gaining experience with network management technologies, including from Cisco. UCS Manager, Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) and Cisco UCS Director.

  • Describe the Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding options and protocols used in a data center
  • Describe the rack design options, traffic patterns, and data center switching layer access, aggregation, and core
  • Describe Locator/ID separation protocol
  • Design a solution that uses Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) for traffic forwarding

Mohammad was an amazing professor. I do not have a strong networking background and Mohammad was very patient in teaching me the basics in topics like wireless. The way he taught (hands on/labs) really helped solidify everything we learned through the 5 days of classes. I have nothing but positive feedback for the way he taught these course and his personality was amazing. 10/10 professor.
